LFG.vote is the passion project of Jason Eric Withers, an independent candidate for Texas' 18th Congressional District in the upcoming November 4, 2025 special election to replace the late Sylvester Turner and Sheila Jackson Lee.
My mission is to empower voters to engage with the legislative process by providing a user-friendly web app where they can view, search, vote and comment on U.S. congressional bills line-by-line. I aim to make government transparency accessible to everyone, removing barriers to understanding and participating in democracy.
My platform offers powerful features designed for ease of use and accessibility. Users can search for specific topics, explore provisions in detail, cast votes to publicly express the position of the district and submit comments to privately share ideas and opinions with the candidate. Whether you're a concerned citizen or an advocate, LFG.vote provides the tools you need to stay informed and involved.
I am dedicated to simplifying access to legislative information. Inspired by the need for a straightforward way to engage with congressional activities, I developed LFG.vote to require no technical expertise, focusing on creating an intuitive experience that reflects our commitment to democratic participation.
I am constantly expanding our features to enhance user engagement and ensure our platform meets the needs of our growing community. Our goal is to empower individuals in Texas' 18th Congressional District to have a voice in the legislative process in order to keep our representative accountable to the will of the constituents. Expect this site to be dynamic and constantly evolving as the platform and campaign grows.
My vow as a candidate is to abide by the will of the people in the opinions they share on what legislation they approve and deny. My only caveat is that I have a chance to explain my opinions equally and vote my morals when they disagree with a majority. If I vote against the majority, you can vote me out after reevaluating whether I was right or wrong within the next 2 year election cycle.
Please feel free to contact me with any and all questions, suggestions, criticisms and ideas.
Let's Fix Government! Vote for Jason Eric Withers on November 4, 2025!
I was born in Harris County in 1988 and have lived in Freedman's Town since 2013 after graduating from Pearland High School in 2007, UT Austin McCombs School of Business in 2010 and Duke Law School in 2013. During my college years I was a legislative intern for Texas State Rep. Ryan Guillen, a judicial intern to the Honorable Gregory A. Presnell in the U.S. District Court and a student editor on the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law and Public Policy. I spent the first 5 years of my professional career in private practice specializing in capital markets, corporate counsel and mergers & acquisitions for energy and technology clients at Latham & Watkins in Houston, TX and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman in Palo Alto, CA. Once the unsustainability of our government became overwhelming to the point of suffocation in 2020, I put my legal career on pause in order to return to my original college major of computer science. In the following years I trained myself as a programmer with the goal of building this platform of direct democracy. Currently I am self-employed in training artificial intelligence for many of the largest players in the subjects of programming and law.
